There are many reasons for you to have lower back muscle pain. Some of the more common reasons are bad lifting techniques, you have had a trauma to the back muscles, abnormal spinal curvature or the most common during the summer months is from not having enough water in your diet.
Most people assume that they must have just lifted something wrong when they get up and feel the lower back muscle pain when it is hot. When you sweet a lot during the summer and drink large qualities of soda or types of drinks that are not water based, your kidneys have to work harder.
Most people are unaware that soft drinks do have carbonated water, but this is not water that is readily absorbed by the body. This makes the kidneys work harder. Just like those that drink excessive amounts of cold beer to cool off, you are actually doing harm to your body.
When your kidneys hurt, since they are located in your lower back, some people think the problem is their lower back muscles. This in part is true since the kidneys are the source of the pain. They make all of the surrounding tissue sore including the back muscles.
The best thing about this as a source of your lower back muscle pain is the cure. By drinking water and water base fluids, the pain will be alleviated. Water based fluids include water, tea, Kool Aid, Gatorade, fruit juices and most fruit drinks. The water based drinks with electrolytes are the best as long as half of your intake is pure water.
With the water being replenished into your system, there is almost instant relief. The danger is that while you hurt your kidneys you may have caused some trauma to your lower back muscles. If this is the case not all of your pain will go away. Your lower back muscle pain will now be felt in its entirety.
This is a common problem for laborers that work in the intense summer heat outdoors. Construction laborers are the one that are usually affected but they are not alone. If you are a home owner and sit at in an air-conditioned office all week, the weekend projects around the home can be your source of the pain. If you are not use to doing physical labor and overdo it, your muscles will let you know.
A lot of Americans, like myself, have working parties that employ our friends to help do these weekend projects. The pay is usually ice cold beer. While this makes everyone feel good, the next day the price is paid. Over indulgence of strenuous work that your body is not use too will cause the muscles of your body to fight back. They do this by being sore and painful. Trauma to the lower back is very common which results in lower back muscle pain because of the pain killing effect of the beer.
Take care of yourself and your friends, save the beer till the work is almost done. Offer yourself and those that are helping you ice water, cold lemon ade, Gatorade and ice tea. This will help alleviate the Monday morning lower back muscle pain.
